So for our Bible class we had to write about the excellence of Jesus, mine was a bit more gloom and doom but I still think it talks about His awesomness.
The prison we live in trapped in our conscience,
Blinded we walk; no light and no guidance.
A cage we thrive in filled with dishonesty,
Shackled in sin, godless and ghastly.
Enslaved by our ignorance, we meet our demise,
Wrapped in a blanket, we are snug in our lies.
We come to the light; we disown our salvation,
Then stare down the truth, we welcome damnation.
Life as we know it shall come and shall die,
The earth, it moves on without a groan or a sigh.
Nothing but our choices will stay or remain,
Did you have a cause? Or did you come and cause pain?
Yet our God he shall save us from indefinite doom,
A place where we're happy; where there is no gloom.
Gracious and forgiving he sweeps us away,
To his house filled with love; forever we stay.
So this is my closing, I bid you farewell
Take heed my words or you'll burn in hell.
For better or worse my rhyme has been written,
My time is now done, my thoughts have been given.
The prison we live in trapped in our conscience,
Blinded we walk; no light and no guidance.
A cage we thrive in filled with dishonesty,
Shackled in sin, godless and ghastly.
