Creed 1C
Cierra awoke in a dimly lighted room, her eyes fluttering open with her newly regained consciousness. The first thing she noticed was the fact about how uncomfortable the chair she was tied to was. Secondly, that her hands were bound rather loosely behind the chair, and her feet tied to opposite legs of the chair. On her right was a small table with a deck of cards spread across it and two chairs facing opposite of each other. In the far corner of this grey room was a small tv mounted on a rolling stand, obviously this wasn’t meant for her comfort, and that fact for some reason troubled her more than anything else.
The sound of footsteps, and the sound of voices snapped her back of her little trance, and she decided that her best option was to fake being unconscious, and when she could untie herself and make a run for it.
“… that’s not what Maggie told me” came the voice of one of her captors, that had both entered the room.
“Does Maggie have a cousin in Ren Lambo, yeah didn’t think so.” The other stated a bit smugly.
They both moved over to the two empty chairs on the right side of the wall, and Cierra opened her eyes slightly to see who was keeping her. The man in the chair farthest away from her was more burly then the other, but shorter which gave him a stocky appearance. He wore a red sweatshirt which had the insignia of a griffin which covered the entire front of it, and blue jean pants with white sneakers. He had steely green eyes that held the look of intense concentration on the other man. His nose was too small for his face, and was slightly crooked. He had short brown hair, and freckles which gave him a slightly boyish appearance despite his physique. The taller of the two, which was closer to her, had a lanky appearance, and a long hook like nose, giving him the look of a weasel. His blue eyes seemed somewhat distant and unfocused, as he stared past the man into the television screen. He had on a dark green sweater, with black cargo pants, and white sneakers also. His long blonde hair was kept in a ponytail, that to her looked somewhat lopsided.
The constant chattering of the television in the background filled the air as silence drifted into the room. It seemed hours to Cierra, before they seemed to be content that their prisoner was going nowhere, before they left once again leaving her too her own devices. She had been constantly working on the knot that tied her hands together while the other two were in there, and as soon as they left she let the rope drop to the ground.
Jeremy noticed the frigid temperature of wherever he was when he regained consciousness. He was on his back, on a very flat surface while an unmercifully bright light shone against his eyelids. He realized his shirt was gone as were his shoes. It took him only a matter of seconds to process this information. Without opening his eyes he kept his breathing normal and listened to the room.
There was a shuffling in the corner. He lowered his breathing even more as the steps came closer to him. A warm, sweaty hand clasped around Jeremy’s wrist. As soon as it lifted his hand Jeremy opened his eyes and slammed the heel of his right hand into the man’s nose, resounding with a satisfying crunch. Stunned the man fell to the floor. Unfortunately for him he was still conscious which Jeremy remedied with a quick right hook. Jeremy stood up straight and looked around him.
Where am I? the thought raced in a quizzical frenzy, repeating itself in his mind over and over.
The room was a medium sized laboratory that had a long shelf that contained about 50 test tubes with blood. Each had a different label with subject name and a number. He saw one with his name on it. Jeremy Parker series: 500-39. There was also another one with Cierra’s name on it, Cierra Murphy series: 500-38. Without even thinking Jeremy quickly took both test tubes and put them in the pocket of his cargo pants. Other than that the room was normal with a few microscopes and even a mini fridge.
He used his belt and an electrical cord he found lying beside the “gurney” he had just gotten up from to tie up the doctor, thinking he only had a few minutes left till he woke up. When he was done he grabbed a scalpel and carefully opened the door.
“Just gotta get these off my legs…” Cierra muttered to herself in a high pitched voice, that surprised even herself.
After a bit of scrutiny she realized that the knot on both of her legs, was not actually a knot, but a series of intricately woven separate pieces of rope. Clearly someone didn’t want her moving, but after a bit of work she finally freed herself from that which had so trapped her before. Moving swiftly over to the door she peered out through the crack to see a deserted corridor, which turned sharply to the right. Moving silently out of the door, she followed the corridor which was her only means of escape, since there were no other doors or stairs. After the turn, it opened up too another small room which had several doors. The door on her left had a circular opening where light spilled out from, and shone onto the black tiled floor. The door on her right, was completely shut, and she could hear animal like noises a bit distantly off in whatever lay behind it.
Jeremy stepped out into the abandoned hallway, his bare feet making little noise as he swiftly went to the door at the end of the hall and peered in. he found himself in a large entry way. The exit was to his right and he had to fight the urge to run towards his freedom.
Think Jeremy, he silently thought. You can’t just leave. Cierra is still in here.
Suddenly he heard footsteps behind him. Placing the scalpel in his pocket, he bounded forward and went into another room and shut the door behind him. Before he could turn around however there was a voice from behind him.
The door in front of Cierra, was cracked slightly, and she saw nothing but the dim light the low ceiling lights let come wafting down. She decided that, the door directly in front of her was the door she should take, and went forward to it. Hearing footsteps behind her, she bolted for the door that was slightly ajar, and entered it without looking first. Closing the door as quietly as possible behind her she turned around to the dark haired man from before.
“He ain’t gonna be happy about this.” The man said, a disgruntled look on his face.
Cierra let out a shrill scream which was stifled, by a sharp rap on the side of her head by the man’s huge fist. She slumped once more into unconsciousness, as the man grabbed her limp body, and lifted her into his arms. Her eyes fluttered open as they walked briskly down the place she had been heading towards anyway.
“Hello Mr. Parker.” Rumbled the deep voice behind him.
Jeremy turned around slowly and faced a man about six feet tall, with slightly disheveled red hair. His shockingly bright blue eyes were beady and close together. His nose looked as if it had been broken several times. There was also a long scar that cut from under his hairline to under his chin. Jeremy grimaced at the thought of getting cut like that. The man looked to be in about his fifties and spoke with a German accent.
“I imagine that you are wondering why you are here.” The man said, in possibly the most offhand way possible.

Jeremy asked him, “Who are you?” the man sighed and took some papers out of a drawer. Without looking up he said,
“My real name doesn’t really matter does it? Nevertheless you”, he said motioning to Jeremy, “May call me Kay. I am the head of the group known as Apep, and we are a highly ambitious group hoping to further… help this new world. Our scientists are always coming up with new weapons, and technology. I take it you have met my wonderful MPs?’
Confused Jeremy asked, “MP?”

Confused Jeremy asked, “MP?”
“Oh yes”, the man said in a happily unnerving way. “The mutated people. We took slight amounts of radiation and pumped it into their systems. Those poor saps, were already heavily irradiated by the initial explosion, we just helped further their mutation. Some come away with super senses, some trackers and even the occasional homicidal maniac.” The way he talked about them, set Jeremy’s teeth on edge.
The big man chuckled and sat down behind a huge redwood desk. Behind the desk was a curved window that made the room appear circular. Out the window Jeremy could see the huge rift that he and Cierra had teleported earlier. Across the Rift he could see the cloud of carcass eating birds had grown larger. Kay motioned for him to have a seat, Jeremy sat in a black chair directly across from the man and kept his hand in his pocket, grasping the handle of the scalpel.
Kay leaned back in his chair and put his hands behind his head. His icy gaze never leaving Jeremy’s he began his blunt proposition.
“I need you Mr. Parker. I need you to help me dispose of some unwanted fools that are in power. Really it is your only choice in the matter, unless you prefer death for yourself and the lovely Ms. Murphy.”
Cierra and the brute walked into the room, where Jeremy, and Kay were talking, and her heart jumped as she saw that Jeremy was okay.
“Aah, impeccable timing as always.” The Kay said, to the one that was holding her.
“She tried to run away.” The man grunted, to his superior.
Kay turned his attention back to Jeremy, who was seated directly across from him.
“The choice is yours, begin your training and help me with my cause, or we can have James here feed you both too some of our animals, they are very hungry, poor animals haven’t been fed in days.” He said with feigned sympathy dripping in his voice.
